Staff Bios
Rossana
Rossana attended San Francisco State as a Health Science major. She received her certification through Diablo Valley College in Dental Hygiene. She has over twenty years of hygiene experience. Rossana is our Hygiene Manager and works hand in hand with the staff. She is bilingual in both English and Tagalog (Filipino) languages. Rossana is a parishioner in The Catholic Community of Pleasanton serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She loves walking her two dogs at the Sports Park and riding a Harley Motorcycle with her husband Ron.
Jill
Jill is a member of the American Association of Dental Hygienists. Jill started in dentistry as a teenager helping out in her dentist’s dental practice. Jill is a graduate of Chabot College, where she attended the Dental Hygiene Program. Jill volunteers as a set builder and painter for the Livermore Valley Opera and is a member of Tri-Valley Stargazers. She also dabbles in watercolor painting and has traveled to Italy to study art. She will be showing her artwork in the local galleries. Jill loves the outdoors, including kayaking, backpacking and mountain biking.
Jayette
Jayette is our Office Manager; she comes with over thirty-eight years of dental experience that expands to general dentistry, orthodontics and TMJ. She received an award for “Dedicated Service” from the American Academy of Gnathological Orthopedics. Jayette also holds an active California Real Estate License and was a “Top Producer” in Calaveras County. Jayette and her husband John owed JLW Construction Company, build many custom homes in the lower Sierras in California. Jayette enjoys visiting her daughter and her grandchildren in Little Rock, Arkansas. She enjoys swimming, four-wheeling, stain/fusing glass art, reading and most of all being with her family and friends.
Rosita
Rosita has over thirty-eight years of dental experience to include assisting, office management and dental insurance. Rosita worked for Dental Dental of California for over six years and has a vast knowledge of dental insurance. She is active in her church, enjoys Bible Study and other various church events. Rosita is caring for her elderly mother and is an involved with the senior citizens in her community. She enjoys decorating her home and her Polynesian Dance Troupe.
Laurie
Laurie is a graduate of Bryman Dental School and has over twenty-four years of dental experience to include oral surgery, general dentistry and office management. She participates in her community in many fundraisers. She is involved with her daughter’s sports events. Laurie is busy taking college courses to further her education. Laurie has traveled all through Europe and hopes to plan a trip to Europe with her daughters in the near future. She is an avid four-wheeler; she also enjoys water-skiing, fishing, hiking and motor homing!
Zandra
Zandra is the Clinical Manager for the dental practice. She has been with Dr. Merritt for over twenty-one years and received her RDA License in 1989. She attended Bryman in San Francisco and holds an AA Degree. Zandra continues her education and plans on obtaining a degree in dental hygiene. Zandra is highly respected by all of our patients and is dedicated to Dr. Merritt and his dental practice. Zandra enjoys her grandchildren and has taken many trips to Disneyland! Her hobbies include decorating, reading, painting and swimming. Zandra loves ethnic art and has recently decorated her home.
Amber
Amber graduated from Galen College in Modesto, California in 2003. Amber now has over four years of dental experience. Amber is trained with our teeth-whitening ZOOM and is an essential part of our office. Amber acts as our rover working with the front office, as well as handling her RDA duties. She is bilingual and is an interpreter when necessary. She plans on going back to school to become a dental hygienist. Amber recently became a new mother and is enjoying her beautiful new daughter. In her free time she enjoys traveling, exercising and most of all shopping!
Ann
Ann received her RDA at San Jose City College in 1987 and has over twenty-three years of dental experience. She also received her teaching credential from San Jose State University. Ann is working on her BA Degree in Counseling. Ann is involved with her daughter’s sporting eventsShe enjoys decorating her home and is an avid reader.
Ilona
Ilona joined Dr. Merritt’s dental staff in November 2009. Ilona comes to our office with over twenty-five years of dental experience. She received her Registered Dental License in 1990, when she moved from Arizona to California. Ilona is very artistic, using many art mediums. This talent helps in the dental field with the many skills needed to assist the back office staff. Ilona enjoys quilting; one of her beautiful quilts has been honored in McCall’s Quiltmaker Magazine. Photography is another talent of Ilona’s, she has received awards for her black and white photos. Ilona is an excellent cook and gardener who enjoys her home with her three beautiful daughters and a variety of pets. Ilona is outgoing and fun to work with.
